T-fam kiddos

I'm sipping my 2nd quad latte of the day...
Ad this post makes me giggle out loud in the quiet of my office this morning...

This session looks so sweet and peaceful- like we were leisurely enjoying a pic-nic in a meadow setting with the breeze fluttering the leaves like diamonds in the late day fall sun.... birds singing and bugs  & critters dancing in the golden grass..... The perfect recipe for photos......

{SCREEEECCCHHHHHH!}

The reality is this...
We are roadside- on a major Highway,
{don't try this at home kids... we're trained/certifiably crazy professionals}
with cars and trucks roaring by.

It was late in the day with babes that we had just roused from a sound car seat induced coma.... they were a tad grumpy with us.

There was bribery, bubbles, and cajoling.
And this session lasted less than 12 minutes start to finish because they were both in tears before during and after.....
{it took me longer to lug that fabulous chair out and back that it did for the whole shoot}
Thank goodness that audio is not included, LOL!

However- my point is... that beautiful light and locations happen in the most unexpected places- and don't stop shooting because you can capture moments of greatness at the craziest times.

T-fam- you know I love you- and I adore that you never flinch when I tell you what my crazy-arse plan is for each shoot.
You are brave and crazy and the results speak for themselves.

H-Fam fun

The H-fam is crazy in love with their boy Jax and it's easy to see why.

My gorgeous friend Lucy and her handsome boys came to hang out with me on two different occasions recently and we had such fun and dynamic color both days- one in the early morning fog and one in the last slivers of daylight.  I love that my client families trust my crazy visions for location
{read here... ratty old abandoned buildings and empty lots)
and can still bring their own brand of beauty to each session.... even if it means missing some prime NFL action on a Sunday morning.

I love hanging with the H-fam because we live such crazy  parallel sports fueled lives.
We catch each other's games when we can and our wine and dinner conversations are always sports dominated.... and it's such a comfortable fit.  I'm sure that many of our family friends think that we are obsessive about the sports talk- for that I'm sorry... but there's no apologies needed in this group!

Love you guys!

The Davis Family

I'm playing catch-up tonight as I'm WAY behind,
 but I didn't want to miss posting the adorable  Davis family.

They met with me at a ridiculously early shoot time- dodging the rain drops (you can see the dark clouds behind them in the firs image and we had some wind coming in off of the lake) but they were such rock-stars- even Trixie the dog- who, by the way (and don't tell MY dogs this...) I have a puppy crush on..... she was one great pooch!
Thanks for choosing me guys!

The D-fam

I met up super early one morning {in between rain storms} with the Davis family at Lundeen Park.
We had a record speed shoot and they totally nailed it in short order!
Even Trixie the dog  was a rock star!!!
Thanks for being brave guys!

Vikings Majors Regular Season

Vikings Regular Season

I know that most people think that my husband and I have fallen off of the social planet the last 12 months.... because he's on the board and coaching.... we are never home it seems, rarely throw any great parties any more and can't seem to make it to anyone else's great parties either.
We seem lame.
I know we do.
Our life seems to run completely around the Little League calendar and we seam to be running in fast forward any more- we're stunned  at how fast the days go by chasing our girls who are on a fast track to grow up on us.

We want them to play as many sports and experience as much as we can give them because we're going to blink and they'll be grown ups.

I joke with my girls that the reason I take so many photos of them- is that because if I were to die tomorrow- they would have photo proof that we were there every step of the way and that we thought that that everything they did was amazing!
{I'm sure they'll appreciate it later- even if they scowl at me now}

The math really doesn't add up this year:
2 girls + 3 sports = 5.5 schedules this year......
It's been one hell of a ride!!!
