The Davis Family

I'm playing catch-up tonight as I'm WAY behind,
but I didn't want to miss posting the adorable  Davis family.

They met with me at a ridiculously early shoot time- dodging the rain drops (you can see the dark clouds behind them in the firs image and we had some wind coming in off of the lake) but they were such rock-stars- even Trixie the dog- who, by the way (and don't tell MY dogs this...) I have a puppy crush on..... she was one great pooch!
Thanks for choosing me guys!

The D-fam

I met up super early one morning {in between rain storms} with the Davis family at Lundeen Park.
We had a record speed shoot and they totally nailed it in short order!
Even Trixie the dog  was a rock star!!!
Thanks for being brave guys!

singing in the rain....

Singing in the rain..... ok- how about shivering in the rain????
Welcome to Washington State... when you have the weather- you don't have the fall color... and vice versa.

We had been waiting for the fall color- and then for a number of reasons we had to keep re-scheduling a number of times, but we finally got to meet up and snap some shots of  my beautiful friend Lucy and her handsome boys.

They were very good sports, considering how cold we were!
{next round will be on the beach in the sun}

Baby O

Fall seems to have been here and gone and winter has reared it's head this last week! I'm so glad that we were able to take advantage of the fall color while it was still here for Miss O's pix!
I'm sure her folks will be happy to know- that her photos are done and on their way!

Have a great week! xoxo Didi V.

Fleeting days of Fall

Fall is quickly turning to winter! This whole cold, windy, dark in the morning and dark in the afternoon thing.... is absolutely for the birds!

*insert a big old raspberry here {ppphhhhlllllltttt}*

Mike & Erin and I were doing the happy dance this morning when they arrived to snap fall pix of their sweet girl in the leaves... and the sun kissed us for a few minutes- and quickly turned fickle- and cold.. and wet!

So I'm grateful we got to play for a even just a bit- because this girl is sooooo stinkin' cute!!!!!
Thanks for coming up to see me guys! xoxo Didi V.

Raising Riley

So- is it possible for a two year old to be a rock star???? {'Cause I think Riley could be one.... just sayin.....} I can't believe that Miss Riley is already 2!!!!! I met up with her parents at Lundeen Park in North Lake Stevens a couple of weekends ago {yes- I know- I'm crazy behind here- my apologies at not sharing the cute that is this family} and despite the prediction and the fruition of rain- we snuck in under the radar of rain. So how do we capitalize on the total lack of sunshine??? We rock the old skool charm- and play up the cool tones that the clouds gave us!

Oh! - and I'd like to give a shout-out to the ducks that followed us everywhere that morning- {especially after Riley shared her cracker snacks with them} ...without them- we may not have had a shoot at all- it was all about the ducks.... because- did I mention Miss Thing is two?????

We managed to not get rained on- and have a great time in the process- thanks for coming out to play guys!!!!!

Pictures in the Park

Just a super quick glimpse from today.... I met at Lundeen Park- on the north end of beautiful Lake Stevens today with two local families.

I was pleasantly surprised that

1- it wasn't pouring rain as predicted, and
2- that there were still so many beautiful leaves to be had!

It was apparent with the chill in the air- that fall is about done- and winter is almost certainly- just around the corner!

(I was joking with Matt & Andrea- that I was pretty sure that my blue fingers, had the beginnings of hypothermia after nearly two hours in cold today!)

It was worth it tho- we got some fun family shots for both Shawn & her boys and Matt & Andrea and their boys.

Do Over!

Yippeee!!!! I love, love, love the colors of fall! I also love a do-over- a fresh start, a clean slate....

I know- you are thinking, 'what the heck is she talking about here?'.... but I needed a 'do-over'.

I shot with this family a couple of weeks ago- and I just wasn't happy with what we shot- they are a beautiful family- and I just didn't feel like I had done them justice..... when I shoot photos for someone- I want for them to love their photos from me- and love/like me.. so I couldn't let that first shoot be the only impression these folks had of me. :) I know, I know- I'm a neurotic weirdo- but it is what it is! The irony in this whole tale- is that we had way too much light before- and we were dodging mud puddles and rain drops yesterday- but we still managed some silliness and funny faces as we danced in the rain!
I especially appreciate this family taking time to meet with me again- in the face of some devastating news at the end of last week for them. Think good thoughts for them- (Tony's mother was diagnosed with cancer)....... and I'm sure that they could use your positive energy. I love the first old skool image- looks like a tough defense, huh?
