Country Girls

With all this sunshine over the last week- I've been running like crazy (and fighting a gnarly cold) so I'm trying to play catch up. (hence why I'm behind in sharing this set)... 

I was so fun to see my girl Bobbi last week when she was in town.  She's an Idaho County girl like me.  And she is the embodiment of simple, un-fussed with beauty.  Amazing hair, flawless skin, Jade green eyes, freckles (I heart freckles) and the sweetest smile..... the girl has got it goin' on!

Every woman should have beautiful photos of herself... mark these times in your life- don't wait to have  a photo-journal of who you are.  Embrace all that is perfect and unique about you......Your family will thank you....

Captivating

You know, sometimes beautiful just doesn't cover it......stunning, haunting, captivating, effortless beauty comes in all makes and models- and this little one- has "IT" ...... that quality that is grown-up and child-like all in the same breath..... the ability to just stare at you- with out really even posing- and just takes your breath away with a look that is decades beyond her real age..... eyes that suggest an old soul, a spitfire old woman who's come back as a brilliant young spark!

Miss *A* is looking at dabbling in the modeling world- and I'm sure she'll have no trouble finding work! Good luck baby! xoxo Didi ~V

Family Fun at the Beach

I just love it when a plan comes together! When I woke to cold drizzle this morning... my hopes were not high that today's family photo session at Edmonds Beach would come to fruition.... but it did!!! The only clear skies to be had in North King and all of Snohomish counties- were found at Edmonds Beach! And we had a ball!

Eric & Kristi and their kids were so funny and laid back- I just loved them! We played and got wet and sandy and almost got drenched in some sneaker wake... but we hopped up quickly enough to save us all from a wet boo-tay!

This family holds a corner on the effortlessly good looking.... perfect freckles- incredible eye color, great smiles and flawless skin!!! They are a photographer's dream! :)

Country kids

What a sweet surprise in the foggy funky weather yesterday... these four sweet faces are just as beautiful as could be....and what a pretty location for a home on a little lake out in the country! The water lilies were blooming, and everything was lush and green- and these four very busy sibs were crazy silly fun to chase around!

Charlie has to be the sweetest- most patient big brother EVER- seriously- he has such a way with his baby sisters- I made him my assistant early on- and he got a huge gold star- he rocked- He's like 8 going on 18- smart and super mature and wow is he going to be handsome- he has a look like the vintage Italian silver screen stars of the 40's.... look out ladies!
There was time for some quality horsing around and the giggles should be bottled- it was really good stuff!

You all know how I feel about eyes and freckles.... will this family has got 'em... and each child has the most unique eye color- and they all rocked! They all have this deep, pensive, mature beyond their years look.... all of them just beautiful. Enjoy!

Karmah & Katie

Life has a funny way of coming back around to you, you know?

Such is the case with Katie. As we were driving around looking for places to shoot her senior session last week - we were laughing about the fact that I've known her since before she was born.... which is cool but made me suddenly feel really old!

And there was such irony about all the circumstances that surrounded this shoot- all I could do was shake my head and laugh..... our connections, the locations, the people and time elapsed.... crazy stuff, you know?

It's kind of like I was just meant to know this girl. And to know her is to love her..... and with someone who is so effortlessly beautiful.... I mean really truly.... I've never seen more amazing skin- flawless- and a perfect spray of freckles..... (need I say more about the freckles?????? I LOVE them!) eyes that shimmer even in the dimmest light situations and huge bright smile....

You'd think that someone this pretty would perhaps have an attitude.... but she doesn't.

And you'd think that someone this pretty would be high maintenance.... but she's not.

In fact- and this was a first for me.... this girl kept the same outfit on for the entire shoot- and changed her favorite locations and used them as her accessories! We drove to 3 of the 4 corners of the planet that night- but it was well worth it!

I know this girl will go far- as she has angels watching over her..... Best of luck this year my dear! xoxo Didi
