Adorable Alex

Wow! Where did the weekend go???? It was a two day bonanza of baby sessions, birthday parties, birthday cakes, fun surprise drop in company that evolved into a mini party and sports banquets. 48 hours goes like 45 minutes when you run crazy like we do here in this house!

I had the pleasure of meeting sweet boy Alex and his momma Kristen yesterday. (Alex is the "boyfriend" of sweet baby Adi and one of these days- we'll get all that cuteness together in one photo!)

We had a fun time playing and chatting- momma Kristen was creative & fun and brought great toys and distractions for Alex- (I was too distracted with those amazing eyes and beautiful creamy baby skin to think of boy props- so I'm super glad she came prepared! )

Thanks for coming to play with me guys- can't wait for our next session together! xoox D

The Sweetest Things...

Ok... how freakin cute is this cake- seriously?????? My girl Dr. Nicky called and said she needed help taking pix of her newest cake creation- so I set up the garage studio and was totally blown away when she arrived- she did an amazing job on her daughter's birthday cake! Not to shabby considering it was only her SECOND time working with fondant!!!!!! I'm sure it will be a huge hit tomorrow!

Twice the fun!

Look-y who came to play with me today...... Sophie and Gavin!!!! And boy- are they busy now!!!! I had a hard time trying to figure out where to point the camera first today! It was predicted to be cruddy weather today, so I had the garage studios all set up today.... turns out- it was totally not needed! we had gorgeous sunshine, big puffy clouds, spring color and a couple of cute kids= perfection! I just can't believe how much they've changed and grown since this time last year! I had a ball today guys- thanks so much for choosing me! xoxo D

Pretty in Pink

Good Morning!!! Happy Monday! Ok- so it's Monday- but the sun is shining, spring has sprung and it's only 4 more days to the weekend- so really- it's not THAT bad. :)

I just wanted to share my shiny-object moment from this morning. I was cleaning and emailing at the same time this morning- ( I know- OCD meets dork) and the sun was pouring through the kitchen window and it was highlighting all the glistening, iridescent and (somewhat alien looking at super close range) gorgeous parts of the lone lily left standing alone in a vase in the window-sill.

Those spots on a Tiger Lily- are actually texture if you look closely..... guess we should take the time to look a little deeper at things, huh?
Have a great day! xoox D

Cabin Fever

What a better way to rid yourself of the cabin fever of winter blues- than to take off and go to the cabin and camp and play with your family!!!!

My SIL H hit me up a while back to say that her folks weren't able to use the family's cabin on Hood Canal on their assigned weekend- and did we want to go with them again... I think my answer was "uhm.. HELL-YEAH!!!"

So all 8 of us pack and piled in the to cars and jumped a ferry Friday morning for a weekend jam packed with non-stop squeals and giggles from the four cousins and lots of laughs for us grown-ups. The weather couldn't have been more perfect- and some minus tides made for amazing clamming and oyster hunting on the beach right below the cabin- lots of cocktails and some mighty fine food= kick-booty weekend!!!

My super cute baby niece- is still the baby of the family- but she's getting to be a big girl now and did a darned good job of trying to hang with the 3 big girls this trip. *shown here with the baby crab she found in the water*

*ohhhhh..... thos dimples*

Here the gaggle in action!

all four of my girls are just growing up so fast- and just get prettier every day- we're so proud of how smart and athletic all four girls are! The genes are so strong here- they all have so many of the same characteristics.... they are each very much their own person.

*da-boyz*
Sunrise on the canal- gorgeous!

Sunset- just as pretty!

we went and checked out the falls again- so pretty but so cold! It's a short hike from the road- and we were darned glad to get back out and find the sun again!

The Gaggle in action.....again......

Spring has sprung and with it came the sillies.....

Smile!!!! You're on Candid Camera.......And see- proof that I was actually on a vacation!!!!! (me with my A-dorable SIL Heather!)

I have so many favorites from this trip- it will have to have it's own scrapbook I think. I pared it down from the nearly 700 frames- down to a manageable 250..... that's good- really, it is, I promise!
Hope you got out and played in the glorious sunshine this weekend- and Bud & Heather- thank you again for a great weekend! xoox D

And she's off!

On a whim this weekend- I dug my old shot put and discus out. Oni said she wanted to learn how to throw- and based on her incredible growth jump- figured this might be a good time to start her out.

I started her out- in the rain yesterday- with just a soft ball- and since just about broke out the windows out front... we quickly moved to the shot! Her age group would actually be throwing with a 6 lb shot.... but we give it a run with my old 8 lb one. She was rockin the standing throw- but we were making divots in daddy's perfect lawn... so today- we went to the school and checked out the ring (that desperately needs to be maintained...). It was a long and tedious workout- we were there for about 2 hours... just trying to break down the mechanics of the throw- and the workings of the glide, about hang-time, and trajectory, angle and speed..... I have now decided that after not touching that thing for 18 years and a decent amount of weight gained over the last two decades.... that making it across that ring- is far more difficult than I remember!

I thought she might fold and give up- but she stuck it out and was proud of her efforts when we got done. We finished up with a short walk/jog. A great way to spend time with my girl today- she's growing so fast- gonna be in high school before I know it, huh?
