Miss M

Miss M met up with me in Old downtown Everett for her senior photos with a quick stop for touch-ups after soccer practice- and she looked amazing!
She's the epitome of fresh-faced, and that kind of elegance is hard to beat!
Play hard, get dirty and have fun kid!

Miss Mary's family

My gorgeous friend Brehani  asked me to meet me her on the Eastside when she was in town last month to capture some photos of her with her siblings and lovely momma, Miss Mary.

Miss Mary's sweet smile and sparkling eyes made my camera love her.....
She is blessed with four great children and 3 beautiful grandchildren and they all share her love of sports.

The years may be stealing some of her memories- but certainly not her beauty.
It was an honor to spend a sunny morning with your family Miss Mary!

11-12 All Stars

You know... sometimes you just wonder what the Universe has in store for you.... and that question came up several times last week as the 11-12 Majors ALL STARS  team- who started tournament play on Monday night at the lovely Phill Johnosn fields in Everett- with a huge shut out on Saturday but talk swirled regarding  NSA State that started mid day on Friday in Richland.... everyone wondered what they were going to do.  10 of the 11 All Stars play for Blaze Pride.... how were they going to make it all happen????

Well Mother Nature- being the cruel heartless wench that she is- set the plan in motion with a flash storm that Washingtonians have never seen the likes of- that left inches of rain and hail on the fields in a matter of 10 minutes to slow down game 2.  This meant that we were a rain-out in the first inning.

We reconvened the following night- on a different field- to turn three innings where our bats were coming alive...... to get caught in another freak Tempest storm- with lightning this time- and so they called the game as a final score because we took the field  for the 5th inning. :(
It was a truly wrong and heartbreaking way to enter the "Loser's Bracket".

We had one more game to play Thursday night- but the girls were clearly already in the Tri-Cities... so most of the  team packed it in and headed East following that game. :(

Oni has become a solid first baseman and a killer out fielder this last year... as well as one of the most feared batters in the Tri-county area....

WTG baby.... WTG!

That's the way the ball bounces......

That's the way the ball bounces..... seems to be a basketball phrase but it applied to softball this year for All Stars.

Our youngest daughter is developing quite a reputation as a pitcher here in the Sno/King/Skagit county area.

She is powerful beyond her years and possesses a large presence on the mound.  She has been "playing up" for the last 11 months as a Majors player for our local Little League and for the 12U Blaze Pride team. {as well as a 5th grade hoops team}

But Little League is very strict about All Stars play and she had to come back down and play for her peer age group when she was selected for ALL STARS, which is the 9-10's team.  Which means that she had to move in 5 feet and use the smaller ball.... which means her velocity- is even faster and harder........
Unfortunately her peers are not used to seeing a ball come at them as hard and fast as she serves it up.... so she and the other pitcher, {who also plays select ball} had to catch for each other..... {which is typically a no-no for the risk of injury to your pitcher}

So Gabs stepped up and  into catchers gear for All Stars with zero experience- and rocked the house.... and pitched 2 of the 4 games played with 33 strikeouts and 3 walks..... that's pretty darned efficient use of your innings.....
Her athleticism is gift. {She's kind of like that cat who falls out of a tree but always manages to land on her feet...} and we're sure proud of her!
