Kim and Adam

Kim and Adam's big day at the Monte Cristo Hotel in Everett was absolutely stunning!
The bride and  groom weren't too bad either.... who am I kidding- GORGEOUS!
They had such great colors- but I was really loving them in black and white too..
It made it so hard to choose during the edits....
Wishes & toasts for a lifetime of happiness to the new Mr. & Mrs!

The Cam Fam

It was a cold winter-y morning at Howarth Park- but we managed to dodge the rain drops and keep our noses from running in the cold, just long enough to grab some snaps of the beautiful Cam-Fam!

Another one of the many families that I get to enjoy watching grow and change- so much fun!
{and if you are into the eyes being the windows of one's soul.... check out this family- my goodness there are some gorgeous peepers here!}
Thanks for playing with me in the cold guys- love you long time!

Cam's Fam

I couldn't believe how much Cameron had changed in the last year since I'd seen him last.... he's all big boy now.... {sniff-sniff}

We were trying to catch the last sweet light AND beat the rain drops this particular evening... with a 2 year old who refused to nap that day..... {how do they KNOW... seriously???}  Despite the swirl of potential issues....we got some sweet shots and finished JUST as it began to rain- thanks for choosing me guys!

Emily

Meet Miss Emily- Jackson HS Senior and absolutely beautiful...
You have to love a girl who looks this flawless who shows up in purple kix and a hoodie with only mascara, liner & chap-stick-  wow!
With a look and a cool of someone much older than her teen years- I'm sure that this young lady will be a powerful force to be reckoned with in the work world.... watch out!
Best of luck beautiful girl!!!!

Making Strides

Welcome to October- and Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!!!!!
Think Pink- think health, advocacy....and support.

Most all of us at some point in our lives, have been deeply touched by cancer.

Either you're a survivor, a caregiver, friend & supporter of someone who has it, has had it- or will get it.

I have been all of the above.....  so I champion non-profits like ACS and The Komen Foundation and volunteer whenever I am able.

I love that my girls have been joining me- walking the whole way- of their own volition since they were 5.  We fund-raise together, we walk together, we laugh together- and we cry together.  We celebrate our dear ones who have survived their monsters- and we honor those who lost their battle- by doing what we can every year to help bring us one step closer to ending cancer.
You can view the huge  gallery of images that I shot while volunteering and walking for ACS this weekend in the Everett/Snohomish County Making Strides 5K event here:

Enter the password Strides2011
You can see the world through my eyes- If you were there and are a scrapper and want great photos of the event or  see photos of a loved one there and would like to order prints....

I'll donate the net profits of these event prints....to ACS for the whole month of October to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

As my sweet friend Nan used to say, "Do small things with love..."
This is my small thing.
{RIP in my friend}

Misty & her boys....

 I'm such a sucker for happy endings and romance....

Rob & Misty were lucky enough to find each other and have been working on blending their families to create a bigger, happier and  funnier one!  This is my third time shooting with them and they just crack me up.
{We shot these a couple of weeks ago- I'm just ridiculously tardy in posting this}  I'm so happy that this  family has each other- because it really works. {and speaking of things that work.. did you check out the freckles and the amazing eye colors on all four????  I was in heaven!!!!}

Thanks for traipsing all over the planet with me guys it was a great evening! xoxo Didi V.

Sorticulture

Today, as part of my relax and take a day off plan... I hopped in the mom-van with my girl Dr. Nicky and her mom, daughter & sis who are visiting from out of state. We attended Everett Parks "Sorticulture"... what fun! So many wonderful food and artisan vendors- your head spins- wondering where to look or shop first!

I felt more than a little conspicuous with my camera and monster lens on- but figured I'd see some great flowers as we were at the park and arboretum.... I couldn't believe how many vendors had signs saying "NO PHOTOS"(and I totally understand- the worry over folks stealing their creative ideas) .... so of course people were giving me the eye as I'm walking around.... oops- my bad....

There were a couple of vendors that I had a great time chatting with- and I asked permission to take a couple of shots because I loved the color and texture of their displays and they were gracious enough to let me play. :)

I purchased one of these delicious double dyed silk scarves as a prop ladies... think belly pix or pin-ups.... ooooh-la-la! :) I loved Vashon's own Sooze of Laughing Magpies,
"an emporium of color & delight" and was she ever! A great chat and FUN stuff!

Coeur d' Alene's John of Dog and Pup Studios- had some incredible art glass- wish I could have a window FULL of this amazing stuff! You can find them here:
It was a fun time with the girls. You should definitely look into attending this event next year!
