Rhianna

Gorgeous LSHS  senior Rhianna M. and eyes that could melt your soul..... wow... just wow.

High school seniors are one of my most favorite subjects.... but this particular student is a favorite because I've known her since she was a little girl and it makes me so happy to see the amazing woman she has grown into being.... good stuff for sure!

Best of luck honey-girl!

Just Because.....

Just because...... {sneek peek}

Sometimes that's the bestest reason of all. Just because life is short- and it comes at you fast. Just because you can. Just because you need new wall art.... or new Christmas card.... or just because you feel the need. Just because is the best reason to buy a cool new umbrella to go and play in the rain... and munch your way through the market, make out in all sorts of cool public places, dance in the rain and giggle until your cheeks hurt.

Matt & Carly did just that Saturday morning. Mrs. D was the first grade teacher of both of my girls- (and we love her to pieces!). Her smile and giggle is contagious-so it's easy to see why he adores her too. {... and he's pretty darned adorable himself}.

They've been married for a few years now (and you'll remember them from her brother Jay's wedding last summer http://didi-mycrazycrazylife.blogspot.com/2009/06/jay-lovelys-wedding-day.html)

They decided they needed a fun photo for their holiday cards, and some current photos- and a marker to their lives as it is now.... should anything change in their lives in the next year..... *wink*

So we had a ball walking and laughing from 1st to Alaskan and back again.

I loved hanging out with you guys! xoxo D

Aaron

Aaron and his family met me down at the Market a while back {sorry I'm so far behind}. On a gorgeous day that reminds us why we live here... it was a perfect day! And a great way to spend the afternoon- walking Pike Place Market and the treasure trove that is Western, 1st and Post Alley. Aaron is the quiet type- soft spoken and mellow.... and he's got the coolest eyes and what a great smile!!!!! {and I'm sure it won't be long before we're using something software related that came from his brilliant mind either.....} Best of luck Aaron- I can't wait to see where you go after graduation!

Brad

I met Brad at Pike place a couple of weeks ago. We had gorgeous weather- and what a great fit for the urban setting and an urban looking guy! Talk about an intriguing overall look- and GREAT eyes! I love that he was totally willing to lay down in traffic and sit in some odd places for a shot- rock star!!! *wink* Seriously tho- this very art driven student was a great subject- and I'm sure he'll be snapping away soon with his own camera! Thanks for coming to hang out with me!

Girls Day

I take things for granted... I do- and I'm ashamed to admit it.... but I'm not so proud that I'm not above trying to fix that tho!

I'm reminded daily in my dealings with people- of a life cut short or massively impacted and forever changed, and the phrase, "I just thought I had more time" or "someday".... and then you have no more some days.....and no more chances to make things right.

Of the times and trips I've taken this year showing my clients fun places to go and shoot photos of their family playing and experiencing new things... I had yet to bring my own kids to experience the Seattle and the Market. And I've lived here for 18 years- and had NEVER gone to the Needle! I know- lame....

So I took last Friday off- got the girls up early- stopped for gas and told them to go and pick out two packs of the most obnoxious bright colored bubble gum they could find. They both looked at me like I'd lost it.... And we were off! We did donuts from the bakery by the flying fish, rode the pig, checked out the cool vendors in the market, found the bubble-gum wall and the girls were grossed out and intrigued all at the same time- and yes- they contributed...... we walked and walked- I introduced them to Pirosky-Pirosky- YUM! And We walked some more.

We headed to the Space Needle and took the spendiest elevator ride in the history of the world... but we can now say that we've been there- done that. The views were spectacular- but we are all a bit wobbly and nauseous... and glad to be back on the ground. :) We checked out the cool exterior of the EMP- and then headed to Capital Hill for Cupcake Royale..... and they rocked!

We had fun- made some memories and soaked in some sun on a glorious day.

Don't wait- get out there and play- don't be left saying "I wish I had....."

Much love- Didi V

Soaked in Seattle

Ahhhhh---- Seattle-Don't like the weather???? Just wait five minutes and it will change.... Life sometimes like the weather can be mighty unpredictable. I am looking at all the photos that I shot this weekend and it was like journal-ing new beginnings for all of them, all the way around. I feel really, truly blessed that people call on me and ask me to be a part of their lives- their ups, their downs and their everythings in between.

Tam and her kids are spreading their wings and starting a new chapter in their lives and they wanted new photos to document this benchmark. But they didn't want traditional- the more urban and industrial and funky the better.... So I got to just be their walker-stalker while they met with some added family (who were the BEST helpers ever!!!), grabbed coffee and the world's biggest donut to share and walked and talked and giggled- worked the Market Place scene, the pig and the bubble gum wall and down Post Alley.

It rained, it poured, it misted.... and as we were getting off the elevator to hop in the cars... the sun came out...... go figure.

I suppose it was the universal metaphor... we can weather any storm together- as a family.

Hug yours tight and enjoy their company- take time to laugh out loud and maybe, shake your butt and dance a bit!

Guys- if you are reading this- thanks for asking me to come and play with your beautiful faces! xoxxo- Much love- Didi
